There is a lot of focus on data gathering in humanitarian supply chains. But, what to do with it?
Transforming raw data into detailed insights enables organizations to use their data for actual decision making. Supply chain analytics has the potential to lower supply chain cost, increase flexibility, speed up order fulfillment and foster growth and impact. Available techniques range from descriptive analytics (understanding the past: what happened and why?) to predictive analytics (forecast the future: what will happen?) and finally to prescriptive analytics (take optimal decisions: how can we make it happen?).
In this roundabout we want to discuss the current status, potential and challenges of supply chain analytics in the humanitarian sector.
